ROOT SPORTS Stream FAQs
About ROOT SPORTS
ROOT SPORTS is the television home of the Seattle Mariners and Utah Jazz*. The network delivers more than 245 live events each year across a five-state footprint.
Established on April 1, 2011, ROOT SPORTS is the nation’s premier regional sports network providing a unique and special experience for local sports fans, sponsors, teams, and media partners. Formerly FSN Northwest, we realized we had the opportunity to create something special, not just by changing our name, but by developing a brand that brings powerful meaning to the local fan’s viewing experience and creates our own identity that aligns more closely with our team partners, the fans, and our regions.

Why is today’s Mariners game not on ROOT SPORTS?
ROOT SPORTS has rights to all locally available regular season Seattle Mariners games. However, select games each season are chosen by Major League Baseball for exclusive national broadcasts and are not able to be aired, including games on ESPN (typically Sunday nights), Fox (typically Saturday nights), Apple TV (typically Fridays) and Peacock (typically Sunday mornings). ROOT SPORTS has no control over these selections, and they impact all 30 MLB teams.

What does “In-Market” vs. “Out-of-Market” mean?

Once activated, Couch Rights will apply to any device you use to access content outside your Home Territory.
